1. Service Description
Jharokha is a QR-based smart doorbell system that allows visitors to ring a digital doorbell by scanning a QR code with their phone. The Service includes a mobile application for residents, a web-based visitor page, and related backend services operated by RakshaKavach ("we", "us", "our").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Account Responsibilities
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials.
- You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Notify us immediately at support@jharokha.in if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service in a lawful and respectful manner. Specifically, you must not:
- Use the Service to harass, stalk, or intimidate any person
- Misuse the visitor blocking feature to discriminate against individuals
- Share or distribute QR codes maliciously or with intent to cause nuisance
- Attempt to ring doorbells you are not physically present at (circumventing geofencing)
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the application
- Impersonate another person or provide false visitor information
4. Visitor Obligations
Visitors who use the QR-based doorbell system agree to:
- Provide truthful identification (real name and phone number)
- State a legitimate purpose for the visit
- Consent to the collection of their name, phone number, location, and photo as described in our Privacy Policy
- Not misuse the system to harass or disturb residents
5. Premium Subscriptions
Plans & Pricing: We offer free and paid subscription tiers (Plus, Family, Society). Current pricing is displayed on the upgrade screen within the app.
Auto-Renewal: Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Cancellation:
- App Store / Play Store: If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, manage and cancel your subscription through your device's subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Web (Razorpay): Cancel from your account settings within the app. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Refund Policy:
- App Store and Play Store purchases are governed by Apple's and Google's respective refund policies.
- Web purchases via Razorpay: No refunds for partial billing periods. Contact support@jharokha.in for exceptional circumstances.
6. Intellectual Property
The Jharokha brand name, logo, QR code designs, application interface, and all related intellectual property are owned by RakshaKavach. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without prior written consent.
Content you create (doorbell labels, visitor pass names, etc.) remains your property, but you grant us a limited license to store and display it as part of the Service.
7. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
RakshaKavach shall not be liable for:
- Missed doorbell notifications due to network connectivity issues, device settings, or server downtime
- Actions taken by visitors after being granted or denied entry
- Data loss due to events beyond our reasonable control
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms of Service
- Your account is used for fraudulent or illegal activity
- You abuse the Service in a way that disrupts other users
You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@jharokha.in. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi, India.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated to registered users via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
