Jharokha ("\u091D\u0930\u094B\u0916\u093E") is a hardware-free smart doorbell system operated by RakshaKavach ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our mobile application, web visitor pages, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Resident (Account Holder) Data

• Email address — for account creation, login, and communication
• Display name — shown to visitors when they ring your doorbell
• Password — stored as a one-way cryptographic hash (bcrypt); we never store plain-text passwords
• Device information — platform (iOS/Android/Web), app version, for troubleshooting
• Push subscription data — for delivering real-time doorbell notifications

2.2 Visitor Data

• Full name — as entered by the visitor on the doorbell page
• Phone number — for identity verification via missed-call or OTP
• GPS coordinates — to validate the visitor is physically near the doorbell (geofencing)
• Camera photo (snapshot) — so the resident can see who is at the door
• Purpose of visit — selected from predefined categories (Guest, Delivery, etc.)
• Optional message — free-text note to the resident

2.3 Visit History

• Timestamp, visitor details, doorbell rung, status (answered, missed, rejected, etc.)

4. Third-Party Services

We share limited data with the following trusted third-party services solely for operational purposes:

• MSG91 — OTP and missed-call verification delivery (phone number only)
• Razorpay — payment processing for web subscriptions (payment details handled by Razorpay; we do not store card numbers)
• RevenueCat — subscription management for App Store and Play Store purchases

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data Retention

Visit data (including visitor snapshots) is retained based on your subscription plan:

Account data (email, display name) is retained until you delete your account. After account deletion, all associated data is permanently erased within 30 days.

6. Your Rights (India DPDPA)

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), 2023, you have the following rights:

• Right to Access — request a copy of your personal data we hold
• Right to Correction — request correction of inaccurate personal data
• Right to Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
• Right to Withdraw Consent — withdraw your consent at any time; this may limit your ability to use the Service
• Right to Grievance Redressal — file a complaint regarding our data practices

7. Cookie Usage

We use session cookies for authentication purposes only. These cookies are essential for the Service to function and expire when you close your browser or log out.
